Tara Hedican is a member of the Ebaemetoong First Nations.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Guelph and a  Master of Science in Education from D'Youville College. She has worked in the education field in many capacities including conducting holistic research, teaching and mentoring. Ms. Hedican also has experience as  national role model, having won the Tom Longboat Award (National Aboriginal Athlete of the Year) and the Junior World  Wrestling Championships.

Recently Ms. Hedican has been working as an Aboriginal facilitator conducting liaison work with school boards and community members to create effective and inclusive policies and procedures to meet the educational needs of all students.  Ms. Hedican also has extensive experience facilitating Aboriginal Education symposiums across the south western Ontario region.
